Sip & Support: Drinking With Benefits

Sip and Support.png

No, really.

Our Sip & Support  program turns a simple pour into meaningful local impact.

We take our drinking, and community very seriously. Be a part of some forward change by enjoying any of these drinks; Marine Layer, Sea Hugger, or a Boogie Board at Jettywave. Each supports a partnered community organization. Every time time someone orders one, we donate a portion of the sales to their respective charities to help fund sponsorship opportunities for our community. Do some good, and drink!

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

The Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside is a place to go for fun, for meeting friends, for caring adult support. It is a place to learn and grow through life enhancing programs and character development experiences. We are about hope and opportunity. MEET THE PEOPLE POWERING JETTYWAVE

Jettywave_Tanya.jpg

Tanya Slye

CO-FOUNDER

Tanya is one of Jettywave’s co-founders, who brings a keen eye for design and a deep passion for agriculture to every corner of the distillery experience. Her home, a destination for hosting on the coast, was the part of the original inspiration for creating Jettywave itself. Our garden patio lounge closely mirrors her own home, a place known for generous hosting and effortless gathering. Tanya studied Small Business Development in Vancouver, Canada, and Organic Farming in Santa Cruz, a path that led her to the Northern California coast and shaped her botanical sensibility. Drawing directly from her background in gardens, she crafted the original recipe for our gin, thoughtfully balancing botanicals with the same care she brings to cultivating living spaces. Beyond the still, Tanya actively manages our online presence, shaping the visual voice of the brand, and is often out at store tastings proudly showing off the gin. She is married to her twenty-year love, Richard, who surfs with their two boys up and down the coast. You’ll often see the boys darting around Jettywave working during service. If you’re ever curious about a new plant in the garden, call on Tanya. She’s always ready to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for plants and Jettywave - and a great gin cocktail!

Lucy Gillies

CO-FOUNDER

Lucy Gillies grew up in Zimbabwe and graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where she began her career in the retail fashion industry. Her path took her to London, where her work expanded into merchandise planning, new store openings, systems integration, and training; experience that now anchors Jettywave. At Jettywave, Lucy manages our finances, keeping in tune with all her many spreadsheets while staying deeply hands-on, often helping on the bottling line, and solving problems as they arise. She is our best forklift driver by far and, without question, Hector, our distillery cat’s favorite human. Jettywave’s nautical spirit is a direct reflection of Lucy’s lifelong love of the ocean and its preservation, rooted in her years growing up on the water. Outside the distillery, she independently practices real estate with Ocean Element and is highly involved with our Yacht Club community.

MiShelle & DAVID Westendorf

CO-FOUNDER

The human Tasmanian Devil embodiment. She drove Jettywave from concept to launch in five short months, all while teaching spin, and while operating California Relocation Network, continuing her ranking as one of the top 100 realtors in the US. Mishelle runs Miramar Beach with surfdogs Bondi and Jetty, and can whip up hosting a party with 45-min notice. If you can catch Mish, ask her why she says Betty instead of profanity. Usually. When not drafting co-founder (and wife) Mishelle’s Tasmanian whirlwind, David is the brand visionary for Jettywave. A product management executive, he was designing professional logos and selling wooden skateboards as a 12-year old. Later in life he became VP at Google, CEO of ThinOptics and President of Jaybird. He graduated from University of Notre Dame, and works in the tech consulting realm along with Stanford SRI Ventures. He is the sole soul surfer among the founders and can be seen chasing wind on his wing foil outside the jetty and catching the largest waves possible at Mavericks.
